ABOUT JUST CABINS IN ASHBURTON AND SELWYN, CANTERBURY

Often when you need more space at home or at the office, a portable cabin from Just Cabins in Ashburton/Selwyn can be the perfect solution. Our portable accommodation cabins have been especially designed for use as a outside portable room, in whatever capacity needed. As well as a sleepout for extended family, or an office, they are becoming popular as an outside studio.

We've based our cabins the concept of portable buildings and caravans, but built them on a permanent trailer. So delivering our cabins to customers is easy, just hitch them to a vehicle and they are on their way. We can manoeuvre them into tight spaces, generally without the need of a hi-ab truck or crane.

To make better temporary portable accommodation, we've incorporated the standard modular building design and added many more features,- a small deck and eave to protect from the weather, lockable ranch slider, power, security lights, smoke alarm, secure window, full insulation, painted interior, with carpets and curtains.

Renting our portable cabins is easy, we've kept the room size to within 10m2 so they do not require permits or consents from local councils. Just apply to rent a cabin in Ashburton/Selwyn through our website, or contact us with your requirements. In the meantime, you can plan the layout of your cabin from Just Cabins with this handy online planning tool.

About Portable Accommodation Cabins

A portable accommodation cabin, is generally a small, simple, one room building designed and built to be movable, rather than permanently located. Portable cabins have a variety of uses. They may be used for long-term, temporary or permanent facilities, and are very affordable because of the factory construction of these buildings. Cabins are considered to be a small rough house or shelter, with basic living utilities, often constructed from logs. The most familiar modern type of portable cabins are designed to be impermanent, and are carried to or from site on a trailer, and can be manoeuvred into position.

Testimonials from satisfied Just Cabins clients

"We rented an extra large cabin from Just Cabins earlier this year for a 6 month period. The cabin was absolutely perfect for what we needed, and was even made to order especially in that larger size, which we really appreciated.  We highly recommend Craig and Karen Nuttall - they are great to deal with, very helpful, friendly and professional, and their communication was first class.

Thanks heaps, Lucie and Kirk"

"When we first approached Craig about a cabin for a business office we were not sure about what we needed or how it all worked. Craig helped us out and explained the whole setup and helped select the right cabin for us. Upon delivery of the cabin he made sure it was in the right place and giving us the best use possible out of it. Recently we had to move the cabin due to our house undergoing earthquake repairs and Craig did this for us promptly and without any hassle at all.

The cabin has been one of the best business decisions we have made. It has allowed us to affordably grow our business and meet the needs of our clients without the expense and long term commitment of an expensive office. Clients have commented on how clever having the cabin is and during winter just how cosy it was compared to some offices that they have visited."

About Ashburton and the Selwyn District

Ashburton, with a population of 17,700 lies south of Christchurch. An unusual feature is a railway line running through the centre of town, but passenger trains running ceased a decade ago. The town services a rich agricultural and pastoral farming district, part of the Canterbury Plains. The Ashburton District includes the towns of Methven, Mount Somers, and Rakaia . The beaches close to Ashburton are popular for surf-casting. The Ashburton, Rakaia, and Rangitata Rivers offer good fishing, the Rakaia in particular is renowned worldwide for its salmon fishing and jet-boating. Upper reaches of the Rangitata are frequently kayaked and rafted. Lakes near Ashburton (Lake Heron, Lake Camp, Lake Clearwater), offer water sport and fishing opportunities. Another popular recreational area is Mount Somers and the Mount Somers walkway. The popular Mount Hutt ski field is an hour inland from Ashburton.

The Selwyn District is a predominantly rural area in central Canterbury and contains within it two distinct regions: the plains and the high country. The plains, where most of the population lives, is a farming community serviced by numerous small towns. The largest towns are Darfield, Leeston, Lincoln and Rolleston.
The south Islands first National Park - Arthurs Pass is in the mountain country of the Selwyn District.
Located in the Southern Alps, the area is popular with trampers, skiers and mountain climbers. High slopes, descending down to steep gorges and wide braided rivers make an ideal adventurers playground. A historic highway and railway run through the middle of the park.
